Nakahouse

Los Angeles based architecture firm X Ten recently completed their remodel of the Nakahouse, a 1960′s hillside home. The home sits tightly in the Hollywood hills where it looks out onto breathtaking views of the city below. The team at X Ten explained that “the existing home was built as a series of interconnected terraced spaces on the down slope property.” Because of zoning and geographical constraints X Ten built off of the existing footprint.

The Truffle is a piece of nature built with earth, full of air. A space within a stone that sits on the ground and blends with the territory. It camouflages, by emulating the processes of mineral formation in its structure, and integrates with the natural environment, complying with its laws.

This house caught my eyes when I passed it. It looks modern compared to the other houses in the neighborhood. It is located in the narrow alley not far from city center.

A very nice house in Strondavika area. I think black color is not a good choice for a house, but of course, people has their own reasons :-)

This house looks like come out of a fairy tale. I really like the design and the greenery at the wall. It's cool :-)

House Series # 83 - Extreme Color House

When they started painting this house I said; "what? But then when it was finished, this house stands out among other houses in the neighborhood. Even though some people complained about the color of the house (it was in the newspaper last week) I like it. What do you think?

House Series # 82

This is a big house. It looks like more than one family could live there, but the garage seems to be for only one car? Anyway this is how modern houses are built. It has a nice balcony above the garage, but some of the windows can not be opened and is therefore difficult to wash.

This made me laugh, in the garden they have placed a "wheel house" from a fishing boat. Maybe that was the only thing salvaged. I bet it has an interesting story. Now it is a perfect place to sit and dream of the ocean and for children to play.
