Beside the artist owned gallery there are some parking places privately owned. Some people have hired them for three months and put earth, grass and bushes there. So now, instead of only asphalt jungle, you have a little bit of real jungle in the stone desert.
This is the BP (British Petroleum) main office in Stavanger, it is located in Forus. For those of you in the oil business and are looking for a new job enlarge the picture.
In the Forus area across the street is Statoil the Norwegian company.
Arcadia from Hamilton is visiting Stavanger these days. We show many passangers walking around the city center. The small floating quay is for small boats visiting Stavanger and the sign says 'Welcome to the Town'.
These days there is a Norwegian championship of bruss bands. Here is one outside the cinema in Stavanger. When I went around town center yesterday there were bands all over the town holding outdoor concerts. They all made you want to stop your feet or march along.
PS. Today is Stavanger DP 2nd anniversary and my daughter Brenda 3rd birthday.
When I was walking around Mosvatnet the other day, this duck kept following me as if he wanted me to take his photo. So, that was it. A cute pose for Stavanger visitors.
This pathway circle the whole Mosvatnet. It is wonderful for a quiet stroll, or a sweaty jog.Welcome all to a break and a quick reset of your batteries.
They shove thick envelopes in my mouth, careless of the papercuts they give me. I get so sick of that damn mailman. He never shuts my lips properly. He never gives me any attention.
My face is rounded near my forehead and square down by my jaw. My hinges creak when you peak inside. I have no eyes, but I've got a single hand, bright red. I never have a lot of questions so I hardly ever raise it. I only put it in the air when I want to know who you're sending a letter to-- but you never tell me.
I swear, if I had teeth instead of metal gums, I'd chew your mail to pieces! And stop hanging heavy newpapers on my body! And--*shoves mail in mouth*

This is carports for the inhabitants of the houses nearby. I like the rounded roof and the details. The cars will be well protected from rain and snow.
A new blocks of flat on top of Gausel. They are well made and comfortable apartment. Many people nowadays prefer to live in flat like this rather than in houses like the one I posted yesterday. Both ways of living has its charm, but for those that don't like maintenance and garden works, the only choice is flat.
From the post yesterday you could see a little bit of this house, but I thought it was so nice so here is a closer look. This house is new, but it is built in an older style. To me when one makes the house with many details I think it is beautiful.
This is the playground which is located in Mosvangen campsite. It is right in front of the camping office. The children would love to play here in the nice weather of summer time.
This is the camping office and kiosk where people can register, check in and out or ask information, etc. On the lower right side of the building is a toilets and showers.
Here are some of the huts you can hire, or you can place your tent on the ground. People come also with caravans or camping cars. This camping ground is located20 - 30 min walk from town center. It is family oriented, peaceful and nice place to spendsome days in your holiday. Here are other photos that I took nearly two years ago.
This playground is in front of the oil museum. It's newly installed and I just came by it yesterday. Tomorrow I will post a different view of this playground.
The items in the playground are taken from the offshore oil industry. So it is fun and educational.
On the fjord side of Stavanger is the terminal for boats going to the various islands outside Stavanger. One can even take the boat to Bergen. I have posted a photo of one of the boat here.
This building is located across the street from the oil museum. It houses a ferry company, various offices and a clinic for taking x-rays. The yellow buildings on the left are the old type of sea houses, before the sea went all up to them, but the land filled is made to have road and buildings in front.
In Stavanger commune students have summer job picking weeds and tending the town grenery. You can see them in the graveyard, out of sport center, traffic islands, etc. It is a nice job, lots of sun and air and give money for a nice holiday afterwards.
This is Rosendal Nursing Home. It is located in a quiet spot surrounded by fields and woods. There is a path along it so the patients can look at walkers and joggers. The most patients have small one bedroom apartments, with nurses checking up and helping them as need be. They are served the meals in their room or in the common cafetaria. The cafetaria is also open to public and we sometimes go there for a pit stop, waffles, ice cream and soft drink.
